Santiago Torres López
Santiago Torres López (Granada, 1981) is a Spanish artist based in Madrid. He studied Fine Arts in Granada and Barcelona. He works in painting, installation and audio-visual media to explore the relationship between human beings and nature; often incorporating themes of history, literature and painting itself as references. In his work he uses symbols, metaphors and allegories from various cultures and backgrounds to create striking images that generate questions and surprise in the viewer.
He has presented a solo project in JustMad Art Fair and the solo shows Marginalia in Galería Ruiz-Linares, Granada , De/Re- Construcciones in Galería 3x4, Madrid and Himnos y Lamentos in Palacio Condes de Gabia, Granada.
His group exhibitions include Sombras. Virus y diversidad in Centro José Guerrero, Granada, Ceci n’est pas un pais in L’Emplacement, Toulouse, France, Pintura in Lago Art Gallery, Faro (Portugal) and Los Amigos Invisibles in Museo Thyssen, Málaga.
