AGNES ESSONTI
As a return to its roots, the work of Agnes Essonti (Barcelona, 1996) translates into a constant journey. She retraces her memories; returns to them as a nourishing food that sustains her art and her life. Her existence takes on more meaning in those fragments that compose her, in that authentic mixture that forms her own being.
With a solid academic background - Escola Massana, Kensington and Chelsea College, Blank Paper School of Photography and the Complutense University of Madrid, her line of work has focused on issues such as identity, race and ancestry. Her pieces are catalysts for a process that she sustains through media such as photography, video, performance and gastronomy in which she has found the possibility of recording, configuring and (re) constructing her own memories.
